i am laying here enjoying the night breeze and chatting with chris on fb. i am craving Phish Food icecream so badly.. my neck and shoulders are hurting :[ ahh welll.... the night is beauteous :D

so here i am hennaing my hair again.. its just not sticking to my bleached hair-worst idea ever in hindsight..it looked pretty for about two weeks... but yes. this time i put a protein filler treatment on my hair first-it "fills in the gaps" in damaged hair and gives the henna something to cling to. i'm hoping for better results this time 'round! the color is beautiful-it just fades after TWO washes. fingers crossed the protein treatment will help!!

i am so close to graduation i can taste it- it tastes of honeysuckle euphoria, that it does, that it does :D

got my cap and gown today! i felt euphoric at the campus bookstore, benevolent even. :D

this spring i've decided that every piece of clothing i add to my wardrobe is going to be handmade- by Me! i'm very excited! i'm the kind of person that sees an expensive, fashionable dress in a store and thinks, "i can make that". so, i've got one skirt under my belt [[chris taught me how to sew pleats and zippers] and while i thought my hand stitch was "okay" chris and his mom think its great-so that's inspired me even more! i picked up a sewing magazine and marie claire to give me ideas for how to alter garments i already have, and what to sew completely from scratch! i'm never quite satisfied in store-bought clothes-i always feel like i look like a store mannequin or that im "dressed like a stereotype" or like everyone else in that charlotte russe cardigan..

this spring and summer i want to catch up on my reading! i want to reread Gatsby, a room with a view, life of pi, anne of green gables.. i want to read "paradise beneath her feet" and... any suggestions??

i graduate may 8th!!! ahhhh!!! seven years of undergrad almost over! so much to get done for my ePortfolio and in "real" life as well!!!!!

i only left the henna on my hair for 40 ish minutes last time i did it [the first time too] and it faded after one week :( so i'm re-hennaing my hair and this time since i know it turns out beauteously-i'm leaving it on for 3 ish hours. hopefully it will stay four times as long since i'm leaving it on four times as long.. it turned out so beautifully last time-a dark ash blonde with so many highlights and so natural looking! karima said henna doesnt usually have the results i did. the brand is Surya Henna Brasil-it comes pre-mixed- i procured it at Whole Foods. and i only needed half a bottle on my shortish hair.

im hennaing my hair!!! i've been dyeing and cutting my hair for a long time now-and i've always wanted to try henna. however, i was under the mistaken impression that you could not use henna on chemically treated hair-and i wasn't about to wait a year for my hair to grow all the old dye out! but i learned the truth and i have yummy smelling henna on my head :] no more deth-chemicals, hee hee. now i won't have to worry about balding like my grandma's who've dyed their hair since they were my age! i'm leaving it on longer than the package says-i bleached my hair the last time i dyed it- and i want the henna to last at least 4 weeks... so, wish me luck on not turning a weird shade. it might be darker than i want it- a nice light golden brown. but i'm okeedoo with that, cause henna is semi-permanent and fades with washes.

hmm i am helping students with IEP and 504 accommodations take their state tests this week and next!! it's a wonderful feeling to just do a few little things- like reading, scribing, and paraphrasing- and helping a student who would normally FAIL a state test to pass with better scores than their "average" peers!!! i really live for the one on one work with students- getting to know them, and help them on a personal level. it's wonderful to be able to spend the time i need to helping a student succeed-it gives me warm cocoa feelings!

next time i'm in eastern kentucky i want to ask chris to get a library card! i LOVE the public library, the way it smells, the way the books feel in their crinkly jackets, the Freeness of it all!

as i was reading the blogs i follow, Culinary Concoctions by Peabody, she had posted a link to a site called 1000 Awesome Things. I decided to check it out-and the most recent "awesome thing" posted was about teachers that change your life for the better!!! i LOVE teaching! its so challenging and wonderfully amazing! it is so so hard some days, some class periods-but it is ALWAYS worth it! i love my students :D

chris left about a half hour ago- i miss him already. its kind of discombobulating, because i start to miss him while he's still here.

yesterday chris worked on his car all day at his grandparents', then at 9 we watched the first episode of the new season of Dr. Who!!!!! it was so grood! [[great+good]] i can already tell this is going to be my favorite doctor and companion match up!!! i've only seen bits and pieces of season 1 and season 4- i wish i had access to all of the seasons and could watch them-damn being too poor for cable. my standard 5 channels don't include BBC or BBC America :[

woah am i sleepy! chris is laying next to me, asleep. i'm so happy he came in this weekend! i didn't think i'd see him for a few weeks, and today at around four he called me and said he was on his way!!!

he arrived when i was still in the shower-i didn't even realize that he was knocking on my door for a few minutes! ahhh! i don't think he was out there too too long, tee hee. after i clothed myself in my favorite straight leg jeans [levi's], a pink lacy cami, my light grey crocheted cardigan with flower embroidered big buttons!, and my Real ballet slippers [payless-18 dollars], we went out to procure some noms. we decided to head out to Dancing Wasabi because i was craving veggie sushi :D when we got there chris noticed our friend john! our friends colin and chris were there too-everybody was needing sushi!! there was a crowd outside waiting to be seated-you put your names on a list, and when the number of seats opens up, you rush in-even if its say, three seats at the end of a full table of strangers!! its all very informal and crowded and delicious! somehow, chris found two seats at the bar-which is more like the counter at a soda stand then a creepy bar setup. only instead of milkshakes and soda jerks, there are asian american men in dancing wasabi hats and aprons, working furiously. we had parked up on a steep side street in mount adams, and as we were walking down to the restaurant, we passed another sushi place-but it was all stainless steel and men in uniforms. it seemed bereft of warmth and character-so we walked on by, even though dancing wasabi seemed to have such a long wait, its totally worth it. i hope it never changes. and its been the same man who has greeted us both times we've been there! i like that too, it makes it homey. chris treated me-he's sweet!! we had edamame, miso soup, warm sake, vegetable roll, chris had fried tofu, and we ordered a delicious dessert! it was redbean icecream in a rice-candy esque thick coating, with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry on top! we saw another couple eating it and knew we Must Haves It, hee hee.. at one point chris made me laugh so hard i almost shot icecream out of my nose-i slobbered a bit on my hand, and wiped it on his jeans leg!! mwahahahaha hah har! he had it comin'! after all, he made me laugh so hard that i lost control of my lips-tee hee!! twas a grood night all around!!!

right now we're laying on my new sheets-theyre light green geometric flowers with rounded petals, blue centers, and a very pale, faded yellow background. i can hear my neighbors windchime, and chris' soft breathing. i will sleep well tonight :D

im sitting in bed, typin' on my lappy and eatin' a sammich :D h00t! sandwiches are cheap, wholesome, and yummay if you make 'em right!

the kitteh is laying on my bedroom windowsill, gazing out at all the critters and trees that house them. there are crickety sounds and a bird is chirping. it feels like its going to rain-real summer rain too! not that crappy cold rain. summer eventides are my favorite time of day and year! the myriad star blanket is laid upon the sky [[tee hee, poe-E-tree] and fireflies are abounding.. the night wind is a warm breeze that caresses exposed flesh- le contented sigh..

wowzers-the first wave of sleepytimes just hit me..it felt amazing.

man my feet hurt- on days when i do dress up for student teaching, i realize by the end of the day why i do not usually bother, hah. after standing at the copier for an hour, i was dead in the water. today was a good day, but the kids are wily after spring break and the next two weeks are state testing [evil]. then they can sniff the sweet scent of summer! i had a good day, but i'm glad i'm home.

ahhh i have so much to do! i need to fill out applications for schools! and come up with lesson plans for my last week of school-two weeks away!! and i HAVE got to work on my ePortfolio this weekend! mostly i'm nervous about not finding all of my paper work for that.. and i need to call my apartment complex and let them know im not renewing my lease, and that i also need to go monthly for june, july, and maybe august... i also need to order my cap and gown..im pretty much screwed i think. [[scared]] o.o

i wish that i was still at chris'! one week for spring break isn't enough! i miz hims!

the weather is amazing here! all sunny and breezy

chris got home around 4:30 yesterday afternoon!! yeayuh! he took me out to Pig in a Poke, a local bbq place-yummmMMM! [[i wish i'd worn a dress and my cowboy boots]] we procured a movie at a closing video store, and unsuccessfully tried to get chris' hairs cut- i offered to cut it but i need a razor comb, especially for boy hairs. when we got home, all full of bbqs, we smoked hookah! mmmMMM twas honey and apple flavoured [[hee hee, "u" makes me all cultured in appearances]] ! last night was the first time i've tried hookah and i Like It. it seems like a nice vice- not something i'd need or want to do extremely often- but nice for a quiet, restful evening at home or with friends. plus it makes the house smell Delectable!! and blowing smoke bubbles is amazing!! you pop them and they turn to mist! i'm still mystified! [[ohhhh pun not intended but wholly welcomed]] chris was definitely the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland last night. it still smells like honey in here!! :D

last night around 1 am i woke up from a nightmare that lasted Forever! it ended with me pulling my mom by the hand as we ran out of a huge house, down stairs next to which my grandma and another member of my family were hanging upside down by their feet..like pigs in a slaughterhouse.. my entire family had been tortured and cannibalized for hours... then i woke up, laid in bed for about a half an hour freaked out and paranoid and thinking about all the real horrors of the world, and how isolated chris' place really is.. then i finally calmed down, got up my nerve, and checked all the doors and windows-twice. no more beer and hookah so close to bedtimes maybe?? then all my other worries crept in and i laid awake until around 3.. i'm pretty sure i messed up chris' sleep too.

i'm headed off to shower soon, and after i shower i'm going to sew a little pillow for karima! i'll leave the 4th corner unsewn so i can stuff lavender and hopefully some sandalwood and lemongrass scented things into it-i'll have to see what the stores around here have-or hopefully chris will make a stop in lex on our way back to cinci. for the rest of the stuffing in the pillow i'm using plastic grocery bags-they're my favorite thing to stuff other fings with! i made a little grocery bag stuffed squirrel with a needle for a mouth a year or so ago at MurMur [[i think that's how twas written]] my friends' old art place. i also sewed a bikini top and gladiator skirt/belt thing out of playing cards-that was a fun day!

well, off to play in the suds!

Karimas posted this wonderful music video, "Kiss With a Fist", on my facebook wall, it makes her think O' me, i wholeheartedly approve! i've watched it about 20 times since i discovered she'd posted it. my favorite parts are all of it-but mostly the cellophane fire. [[i wonder what it says about how people view my love life, hah har- more fire is all i have to say, mwahahaha hah ]] :D

so as far as chris' job goes i'm going to start looking forward to incredibly rainy days instead of beautiful spring days! hot weather means FIRES. rainy days mean Getting Home at a Decent Hour!

today was thankfully Rainy! chris surprised me by coming home for lunch today!!!!! lunch with chris=happy times extraordinaire ---> i've spent my entire spring break with him but i still miss him-damn forest fires. he'll be home around 5 today! yeayuh!!

i have been somewhat productive with my time alone- yesterday i hand sewed a skirt!!! its almost done-i just don't know how to taper it at the waist so it doesnt slide off of my hips-but also make sure i can still get it on..im guessing i need some elastic or a zipper?? i need to youtube this 'un. i did pretty well for it being my first skirt i've made evar!! i used a yard of fabric folded in half hotdog style [[hee hee]] then i sewed up the unattached ends-i got inspired whilest sewing and left a 4 inch or so slit in the back-i sewed the edges of that too and the hem.. chris complimented my hand stitch, eee. damn waist and making it fit!! hmm..

this weekend is Beaux Arts Ball!! i dunno if chris and i are going to go or not... tickets are prob all sold out by now...but perhaps!

well..off to shower! i enjoy showering in other peoples' showers. something bout using their products or something..

this is my third post of the day!

right now i am sipping chilled mango juice and a tiny bit of svedka vodka in one of chris' frosted mugs. i just finished making zuppa toscana soup All By Myself!! i'm very proud. chris is out FIGHTING FOREST FIRES!! this also makes me extremely proud! i didn't know that was part of his job when he first told me about it-its exciting and Frightening! he called me about two hours ago and told me there were 5 unmanned [[noone fighting them]] fires in the area, so he had to go out and fight. i'm a little worried-i'll be very worried if he isn't home, or hasn't called by 11. okeedoo, thinking about it has me worried. the soup is in its last simmer, just mingling all the flavors now. im going to freshen up my drink [[ by this i mean add vodka and ice..i need to be calmed one way or another ;> ]]

last night when chris got home from work he took me to walmart to procure fabric to make skirts and pillows! he also picked me up a pillow for his bed. we went to tlacaplaca (sp.?) for dinner and then to food city for some groceries and beer! then we came home and had a drink and a licking battle! not for the faint of heart, hee hee! he won, not by much. its mostly because he has a longer tongue. [[the best way i can describe our licking battle is that we tried to lick each other's faces without getting licked in the process..]] then we read in bed [the best!] and fell asleep with little peeper froggies serenading us through the open bedroom window.

today wasn't as lonely as yesterday-mostly cause i was busy..and also because i slept in till one. my body needs the rest after weeks of trying to motivate 8th graders all day! im going to ask chris to take me somewhere outside today, its beauteous outside! today also wasn't as lonely because i was busy-i did dishes and cleaned the bathroom [[the tub had to be washed in three stages, whew!]] it turns out that i need about 2 more inches of fabric than a yard to make my skirts..so im going to see if chris will take me back today to get two more yards of skirt material-i have visions of pleated ruffles :D

chris should be back soon- part of his forestry job is to Fight Fires!! and its fire season in eastern kentucky-look up prestonsburg, KY on the weather channel's website-we're under a fire weather warning. ahh! that part of chris' job is sexy and scary all at the same time! so i am a tad worried.. he's no good to me burnt to a crisp! hah, hah. but no, really.

chris' neighbor is mowing his lawn-mmmMMM fresh cut grass! i used to buy my friend jenbot demeter's fresh cut grass perfume from whole foods (when it was still called wild oats) i think i might pick her up another bottle if i can find it again! maybe i'll just buy one for me too so i can sniff it and remember younger jenbot and i, and our frolicksome days at UK. i miss my jenbot, i think i'll call her tomorrow morning! maybe chris and i can plan a trip to lex this weekend!!

i'm in eastern kentucky waiting for chris to come home! i got lonely a lot sooner than i thought i would being all alone and carless. le sigh. there are legos, crafty-type things, and books yet i have no kitteh or human company and am thus disengaged. bleh.

despite being a tad lonely i'm grood [[great+good]]. i wish i Had brought my car up here-but where would i drive? and then i'd prob end up at the dollar general, rite aid, or the used book store up in town spendin' my non-existent monies. OR i wish that lex was only 30 minutes away :] ahhhh-im sleeping in tomorrow-till like noon or one. that'll pass the times, hah har. but no really. hmmm... countdown two hours ish till human contact.

im going to go stumbling through the interwebs..i'll probably type up another post before too long, hah!

ONE MORE DAY till spring break and Chris!!!

karima invited me to Tunes and Blooms at the cincinnati zoo tonight! i am very tempted to join her, but im already sleepy. also i have to wake up early to type up a test for the kids! i let them create their own test questions (after a lesson on how to write good questions and a lot of guidance) and tomorrow morning i'm going to choose twenty of the best questions and compile their test. then i need to make 90 copies. le sigh. im gettin sleepier by the minute too.. karima won't be home till around 7:30-7:45..then we have to drive to downtown-15 minutes-ish.. and it ends at 8:30! ahh! i guess that decides it for me-since it ends at 8:30 and we'll be arriving around 8.. the next 3 weeks shows feature bands i know and love, so i'll plan on going to those!! if i get there at 6-ish and leave by 8:30 i'll be just fine for getting quality shows and getting quality sleeps :D

tomorrow night chris and i and madam karima are attending the Clifton Heights Music Festival!! i canna wait to see our friend john's band Losanti, and The Flux Capacitors!!!!! these are two of my favorite bands-the only prob is that they're scheduled to play at the EXACT same time!! i'll make it happen tho'. h00t.

i had chicken and guacamole for dinner again tonight only this time i skipped the chips-so grood [[great+good]]! i has a flavour. broohahahahah hah!

well, im off to read some more "A Room With a View" off teh interwebs.
