chris and i completed phase one of cleaning my apartment yesterday! i'm guessing it is going to be in four phases-with the fourth being packing shiza up to be moved. or maybe packing will be the fifth phase and the fourth will be donating tons O' stuffs to goodwill.. either way i am looking forward to having a non-frat-esque apartment! it already looks a lot better thanks to chris!

i am in eky in chris' apartamente right now. i just did his dishes and i am going to take a shower soon and head to walmart perhaps... or i won't.. but showering is a must. yesterday was hot and sweaty- i had a sweaty forehead just walking from kohl's to the car with chris' family. it was icky outside.. for me summer is all about the gloaming and eventides.

thursday i went and visited my jenbot and carly in lex!!!! jenbot made bacon and coffee just like old times. we took carly to the park and jenbot and i caught up on each other's lives. we tried to go out to see a bluegrass show at buster's that was only $6, we were hoping for some impromtu dancing opportunities! however we ended up getting lost behind a creepy industrial looking building where two steven segal russian villian-type men tried to flag us down! i told jen, "don't you fucking stop!!" and we sped by at a fast clip [25 miles per hour, hah] we ended up at Common Grounds sipping tea [me] and white hot chocolate [jen] and mounching on giant chocolate chip muffins!!! mmmMMM!!!! besides the pretentious sophomoric conversation at the counter behind us it was groodtimes!

i need to do a lot of things that are scaring me-like looking for a job. pretty much just looking for a job. mostly i have the caterpillar response to fear and danger- i curl up in a little ball and wait for the world to be less confusing. unfortunately that approach doesn't work with this situation. le sigh. off to shower and then put away laundry and probably read a book-because none of those things involve leaving the house.

so after my shower i felt a bit more brave and ventured out to pick up some steaks and marinade to surprise chris with a yummy dinner when he gets home from work! i like to make my own marinades and experiment-but i don't know what chris likes as far as steak goes.. he was a vegetarian for a while until fairly recently, so...hah. we'll see. he eats chicken and pork-so i'm hoping steak as well :] right now some potatoes are baking- im going to put the steaks under the broiler-alack, chris hath no grill.. i just saw on facebook that karima is having a cookout at her new place sunday- i guess grilled meat is on all of our minds! i think i'm going to bring a whole bunch of corn on the cob and other veggies to grill and share at karima's party! and some rootbeer and pbr! yumm! i was going to try and stop drinking pop in all its forms, yet for whatever reason coke and rootbeer say Summer to me-damn childhood habits! hee hee!

is it just me, or is lookbook looking a tad too streamlined? i am not a fashion snob and most days im in cropped jeans and a white tee with a sloppy cardigan and my ballet flats.. [[say that in one breath]] its just that when i look at my lookbook, i want to see outfits with soul and personal touches, definitely some handmade wondrousness!.. and lately its been an urbanoutfitters wasteland.. simplicity really is key, ladies. add a mexican coin looped on a gold chain from your 6th grade family vacation in cancun and voila!! but i keep scrolling down, hah. i did find a few pearls mixed in today-just when i was about to give up. ;>

[[please excuse this random rant from someone who is by no means well-accessorized on a daily basis]]

today has been somewhat bleck. i've been nauseated pretty much all day until about an hour ago. it took me all day to do just a few dishes-i'd start, then feel queasy, lay down..start up again. good highlights were that i got in touch with my ex to give him his things back-i'm not in a bitchy rush or rude about it or anything- we actually talked about it a few months ago. its just that i'm moving in a few weeks, and i am trying to get rid of My stuff. i am very glad that it doesn't seem as though my ex hates me-if we actually lived near each other i would think and hope that we could be friends again. i also got to talk to logan on the phone! he and i have had a devil of a time getting each other on the phone, hah. he's coming in toward the end of this month and i'm looking forward to catching up and goin' drinkin'! :D

i got three calls today from the phone alert system my college uses to let us know when icky weather is happening and school's closed, or if something dangerous is afoot. apparently today there was a man carrying a holstered weapon on campus. he turned out to be a federal agent.. sigh. my first thought was "its kentucky people!!" the NRA is as rampant as ticks here.. ahh well..maybe he looked shady. and perhaps i would've called it in too. who knows? i do understand though, why someone would panic. what with campus shootings. i definitely get it, but i am not the sort of person who would see his gun and think "campus shooter"-maybe i should.. i usually am paranoid about getting raped or mugged.. perhaps i should expand my 'disasterology'-especially since crazies with guns are a very real threat.

chris and i made potato curry last night! it was okay-definitely a white-bread recipe..very bland. i added salt and pepper and it was okay. we're going to try a more authentic recipe next time. really all it did was fill me up and make me want to go to the indian buffet this weekend!!! mmmMMM! we had a misadventure with nan as well. it was my first time baking any kind of bread other than biscuits so it was a bit magical seeing actual bread appear when we put it under the broiler. chris accidentally grabbed the hot handle of the pan in the oven withouth a pot holder!!!!! he dropped the pan on the floor- he was worried about my feet, i was worried about the floor- and when i realized WHY he had dropped it-i was extremely worried about his HAND!! but it was a first degree burn-we looked up burn types and treatments online at first because we were a little freaked out. i was very worried, but when really stressful situations happen-i get very calm and ready to handle the situation. its an instinct i appreciate, hah. less exciting we didn't leave the dough in the fridge for 3-6 hours like the recipe called for tho'..our nan didn't spread out to fill the pan at all-so perhaps that is why.

we were supposed to make mezzaluna ravioli [[without chicken]] tonight-but i don't think my sto-mahtch will tolerate all the dairy and richness of that meal..le sigh. i'm hoping chris will let me take him out to a diner and treat him, and order some soup for myself. hopefully i can get my hands on some anti-nausea medicine and then eat whatever i want, that would be my preference..
i hope chris gets home soon, tho' because i am starving from not being able to eat all day!!

i'm graduated!!! if only i could lay back and enjoy it in a more leisurely manner.. le sigh. don't get me wrong-i'm taking it pretty leisurely-but today i'm giving myself the goal of filling out 2-3 applications per week! now, this may sound like a small goal-but education apps are waaaayy longer than your average application. soooo...yep.

i've got a few positions i would really like to get- well, one really, its part time tho'-but it's at a creative and performing arts middle school where i'd teach social studies part time.. but it's closer to chris than where i'm living now! an hour and a half closer! that makes a big difference! a two hour drive seems like nothing compared to a 3 and a half hour drive.. i've heard back from one principal-he told me i needed to apply through their district's website.

my to-do list:

1. sign up for praxis exams
2. fill out applications and hand-deliver resumes [it makes a difference, trust me]
3. study for praxis exams
4. send out grad thank you notes and announcements [yep, i do things all defunkified]
5. sort through my stuff and donate most of it to le groodwills
6. pack up what's left
7. get a storage unit for my furniture
8. make a more solid decision about where exactly i'm going to live starting June 1st...

i had my last observed lesson today! i handed in the url for my ePortfolio and my prof will let me know if i need to make any corrections. sooooo close to graduations.. sooooo close.

chris asked me if he could do anything special for me for graduation- i think i may ask him to help me clean my apartment and start Really going through my stuff and goodwilling a lot of it!! i want to leave this apartment with a lot less crap than i came into it with. when i moved in a year ago i came toting 6 years worth of dorm life accumulations. wowzers. i spring cleaned a couple of months ago and thinned out my clothing a lot- but there's still so much STUFF. i have five or six half full perfume bottles- well meant gifts from my mom, three bottles of body wash-also gifts from my mom, two random lamps i am not a fan of, quite a few belongings that i asked my ex to come and retrieve back in January, and a LOT of loose papers that im pretty sure are going straight to the recycling bin!

the kitteh is laying on my lap [[making it hard to type, hah]] purring away! i really am lucky to have found another animal soulmate!! he is a dog inside a kittie's body- uh-mazing. he is loyal, fetches, follows me around everywhere, is very very sad when i'm gone and very, very happy when im home [read: emotional wreck-need to work on this] ohhhhh beezlebub/dr. horrible/basement cat :D

i have had graduation euphoria, then graduation ennui, then graduation euphoria again... and now i am nervous, because my last observed lesson is tomorrow..also, i realized that i don't have one of the lesson plans i need for my ePortfolio [ i typed it on a school computer, and deleted the email i sent to my prof with it attached ] graduation is less than a week away now- i just want to get this portfolio stuff out of the way... my portfolio has to meet all the requirements for me to graduate- so, there's still a 1% chance i might not graduate- and that is freaking me out.

i cannot wait for graduation!
